CHAPTER 7 Configure Logging
What is logging? Logging is the act of recording “events” that
occur at the SOHO 6 interfaces. An event is any single activity,
such as communication with the WatchGuard WebBlocker
database or incoming traffic passing through the SOHO 6.
Logging is intended to record the kinds of activities that indicate
security concerns–most importantly denied packets. Certain
patterns of denied packets can indicate the type of attack that is
being attempted. Remember that if power to the SOHO6 is
removed the messages are lost.
