NOTICE

Complete the Test Run and Break-Inprocedure on Page 13 before using this lathe/mill for any cutting or threading operations; otherwise, gear box damage will occur.

The Model M1109 will perform many types of operations that are beyond the scope of this manual. Many of these operations can be dangerous or deadly if performed incorrectly.

The instructions in this section are written with the understanding that the operator has the necessary knowledge and skills to operate this machine. If at any time you are experiencing difficulties performing any operation, stop using the machine!

If you are an inexperienced operator, we strongly rec- ommend that you read books, trade articles, or seek training from an experienced lathe/mill operator before performing any unfamiliar operations. Above all, your safety should come first!

When illuminated, the power lamp (Figure 14) indicates that the power is being supplied to the lathe/mill. If you press the red emergency stop button, you will cut power for machine operations. Twisting the emergency stop but- ton clockwise and letting it pop out will restore power for machine operations and reset the switch.

Always wear safety glasses when oper-

may result in serious eye injury caus-

ing blindness.

OFF

TURN OFF and LOCK your master power switch so no power is available to the lathe/mill, and make sure the spindle is stopped before proceeding with any adjustments or maintenance. Failure to comply may result in serious personal injury or death.
