OPERACIÓN

OPERANDO EL GENERADOR

Encienda el Motor

Desconecte todas las cargas eléctricas del generador. Use las siguientes instrucciones para encender:

1.Asegúrese de que la unidad está en una superficie plana.

2.Sitúe la válvula de combustible blanca en la posición "On" (Figura 33). El tirador de la válvula de combustible quedará en posición vertical, apuntando hacia el suelo.

ADVERTENCIA

El rápido repliegue del cable del arrancador (retroceso) impedirá que el usuario suelte el cable a tiempo y tirará de su mano y brazo hacia el motor.

Como resultado, podrían producirse fracturas, contusiones o esguinces.

•Cuando arranque el motor, tire lentamente del cable hasta sentir una resistencia y, a continuación, tire rápidamente de él para evitar su retroceso.

•NUNCA arranque o pare el motor cuando haya aparatos eléctricos conectados y en funcionamiento.

IMPORTANTE: Si el exceso de combustible en la mezcla de aire/combustible ahoga el motor, sitúe la palanca estranguladora en la posición “Run” (Funcionamiento) y tire del asa repetidamente hasta que el motor arranque.

6.Mueva poco a poco la palanca estranguladora hacia la posición "Run” (Funcionamiento) a intervalos de segundos (tiempo cálido) o minutos (tiempo frío). Espere a que el motor funcione suavemente antes de cada cambio. Utilice la bomba con la palanca estranguladora en la posición "Run” (Funcionamiento).

4.Mueva la palanca estranguladora hasta la posición "Choke” (Estrangular) (Figura 35).

5.Agarre el asa del arrancador de retroceso y tire lentamente hasta notar una ligera resistencia. A continuación, tire rápidamente del asa para vencer la compresión, evitar el retroceso y arrancar.

ADVERTENCIA

Los motores al funcionar producen calor. La temperatura del silenciador y de las áreas cercanas puede alcanzar o pasar los 150ºF (65ºC).

Quemaduras severas pueden ocurrir al hacer contacto.

Los gases y el calor de escape pueden inflamar los materiales combustibles y las estructuras o dañar el depósito de combustible y provocar un incendio.

•NO toque las superficies calientes y evite los gases del escape a alta temperatura.

•Permita que el equipo se enfríe antes de tocarlo.

•Deje un espacio mínimo de 152 cm (5 pies) alrededor del generador, incluida la parte superior.

•El Código de Normativa Federal (CFR,Título 36: Parques, Bosques y Propiedad Pública) obliga a instalar una pantalla apagachispas en los equipos con motor de combustión interno y a mantenerla en buenas condiciones de funcionamiento, conforme a la norma 5100-1C (o posterior) del Servicio Forestal de la USDA. En el Estado de California, la ley exige el uso de una pantalla apagachispas (Sección 4442 del Código de Recursos Públicos de California). En otros estados puede haber leyes similares en vigor.
