5.2Replacing the processor

VCAUTION!

Only processors of the same type may be used on the system board.

ÊOpen the server as described in chapter “Preparation” on page 19.

ÊLift the air cowl upwards to remove it as described in section “Removing the air cowl” on page 22.

ÊLoosen the four screws of the heat sink in a crossover pattern.

ÊLoosen the heat sink carefully by turning it back and forth. Then lift it up and off.

ÊRemove the residual thermal paste from the underside of the heat sink.

ÊClean the underside of the heat sink using a lint-free cloth.
