7.1Installing a SATA DVD drive

ÊOpen the server as described in chapter “Preparation” on page 19.

ÊFirst remove the dummy module by pushing it forward out of the housing.

VCAUTION!

Keep the dummy module for future use. If you remove the accessible drive again and do not replace it with a new one, the dummy module must be reinstalled to comply with EMC regulations and to satisfy cooling requirements and fire protection measures.

ÊConnect the free ends of the DVD cable to the corresponding connectors on the HDD backplane (see arrow) or on the system board ("SATA ODD", see also section “Cable diagrams” on page 68).
