Before Connecting Peripheral Devices

Your computer can be expanded by connecting or incorporating various peripheral devices.

WARNING

When connecting peripheral devices to your computer, do not connect devices other than Fujitsu recommended products.

Doing so could result in an electronic shock, fire, or failure.

CAUTION

When installing or removing peripheral devices, do not remove screws other than those specified in the manual.

Removing the screws other than those specified may cause injuries to persons and damage to the devices.

Follow the instructions in this manual to connect the cables.

Connecting the cables incorrectly could result in damage to your computer or peripheral devices.

Precautions

Take the following precautions when installing peripheral devices.

It is recommended to use Fujitsu’s products when installing peripheral devices.

Note that the warranty does not cover abnormal performance or failures of the computer caused by installing CD or DVD other than Fujitsu’s products.

For devices that are not prepared by Fujitsu, inquire the manufacture of peripheral devices you use about whether your computer supports these devices.

Your computer supports performances of Fujitsu’s products only.

Install one peripheral device only at one time

Installing two or more peripheral devices at one time may cause failures of normal installation of drivers, etc. Complete the installation of one peripheral device before installing another peripheral device.

Turning off the power to the computer and the devices connected

For safety, be sure to unplug the computer. Currents still flow inside the computer even after turning off your computer.

Do not work on the computer immediately after turning off the computer.

Internal devices of the computer become hot immediately after the computer has been turned off.

Turn off the power to unplug the computer, and wait 10 minutes or so before start working.
