Installing the Windows NT SCSI Device

Driver

This section contains the steps for installing the Windows NT SCSI device driver on a Windows NT server.

The software kit that is included with the HBA contains the latest version of he HBA’s files at the time of shipment. Software files are updated periodically and can be obtained from the Compaq website:

http://www.compaq.com/products/storageworks/adapters.html

Drill down through Services and Support to Adapter Support.

IMPORTANT: The ideal device driver installation includes the possession of a valid operating system backup.

Following are the steps for installing the Windows NT SCSI device driver and registry parameters for the first time.

From the Windows NT desktop:

1.Click on Start, select Settings, and then Control Panel.

2.Double click on the SCSI Adapters icon.

3.Select the Drivers tab

4.Click Add.

5.Click Have Disk.

6.Type in the path to the Windows NT SCSI device driver and then click OK.

7.Select the fibre channel SCSI driver and then click OK.

8.Click Install and continue to install the driver.

9.Reboot the computer to restart Windows NT.
