Overview of MA Server Workflow

Search and Retrieve Content

The MA server provides the ability to create a Storage Media File, or Shortlist, that allows the User to search the archive discs for high-resolution content.

Storage Media File (Shortlist)

The Shortlist is a User specified list of archived high-resolution content. This list provides the User with the information needed to retrieve the original, high-resolution content stored on archive discs.

To create a Shortlist:

1.Use the MA server’s search function to locate the desired content and then place it in the shortlist pane.

2.Once the shortlist is created, it can be sorted by filename or media storage ID.

3.When the shortlist is completed, it can be output it as:

HTML Print file

The MA server creates the shortlist as a HTML file that appears in a browser window. This file can be sent to the User’s local printer. This shortlist contains each video clip’s:

Filename

Thumbnail

All metadata tags in use, see Metadata Management on page 38. Creation date

Length

Storage Media ID

PDF File

The MA server generates a PDF file of the Shortlist which can be displayed or saved to the User’s local hard drive. This list is on letter size pages, with a cover page, a table of contents, list of Storage Media IDs, and a list of videos with their:
