These MA servers have three 1TB drives, each with two partitions, creating 6 virtual drives.

C: (Windows)

Windows XP PRO operating system. Do Not Modify: This Is Not A User Drive.

This drive provides temporary storage of the high-resolution content during the Ingest process. When the MA server verifies that the content is archived on a disc, this content is erased from the drive.

T: (Tools)

Tools drive, this is the drive where the User works. There are four folders:

PXMA-auto-archive

This folder is shared on the network and used by the Auto Watch functions for uploading files from local NLE or ingest stations.

PXMA-local-Copy

This folder is shared on the network and used by the Copy to local folder function for downloading files from the MA server to local NLE systems or shared network storage.

ISO-Files

Folder where the ISO files are generated. On PX-10 they need to be dragged into the burn tool manually, on MA-50 they are stored here temporally until taken into the automated disc burner.

Tools

This folder is used by the various MA applications and has various sub folders.

Desktop Shortcuts Provide Access to User Folders

Drive T: is the only drive with User accessible folders. To assist the User, desktop shortcuts are provided for all accessible folder.

V: (PX-VM-Storage)

PX MA server and VMware storage. Do Not Modify: This Is Not A User Drive.

The V: drive stores the virtual MA server’s database and preview clips.

Backup PX-VM-Storage V: Drive to Archive MA Database and Proxy Preview Files

Backup V: drive as part of MA server disaster recovery plans.
