Flash Must Be Installed on the Client Computer for the Preview Player to Function.

The Preview Player provides the ability to run the preview Flash files of the high resolution content file. The preview file was automatically created when the content file was uploaded to the MA server, see Ingest on page 29.

Rendering Thumbnails and Preview Flash Files

A video’s thumbnail appears before its preview Flash file is completely rendered. It is possible to check the status of the Flash file generation by previewing and looking at the Elapsed time slider.

The player displays all of the content file’s data and metadata, as well as a list of other files in the same bin.

In addition, the Preview Player allows the User to:

Edit the file’s metadata.

Add file to the Shortlist.

Assign the file thumbnail to be the bin thumbnail. The thumbnail is the first frame of the video clip.
