6Serial Communications

To interface the Vision 70 with a home theater automation/control system or a PC running terminal emulation software:

1.Connect it to your control system or PC as shown in Figure 3-12.

2.Start a terminal session on your PC using a terminal-emulation program, such as HyperTerminal.

3.Configure the RS-232 controller or PC serial port as follows: no parity, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit and no flow control. Set the baud rate to match that of the projector (115200, 38400 or 9600).

4.Press <Enter>. You should see a command prompt (>) in the terminal window.

5.Type a command from among those listed in Table 6-1and press <Enter>. For example, to change the aspect ratio to Letterbox, type x063x <Enter>.

Serial commands to the Vision 70 take the following form:

Commands are in ASCII format.

Commands are not case-sensitive; X001X and x001x are equivalent.

A carriage return MUST follow each command.

The Vision 70 will not accept serial commands for 20 seconds after it is
