9 Firmware Update

A firmware update should be undertaken if function do not work properly and if SEH Computertechnik has released a new software version with new functions or bug fixes. You can download the current firmware files at www.seh.de.

The firmware is saved in the flash EPROM of the TPG60. In the course of a firmware update, the old firmware will be overwritten and replaced by the new firmware. The configuration parameters retain their original settings.

A firmware update can be carried out automatically (dynamic update) or manually (standard update).

In the case of a standard firmware update, the firmware file is downloaded manually from a server or a data medium and saved in the TPG60.

In the case of a dynamic firmware update, polling is performed during a TPG restart to determine whether, in the meantime, a later version of the firmware file has been stored on the specified file server. If this is the case, the firmware file is automatically saved in the TPG60 via FTP.

It is possible to perform a firmware update for several TPG60 simultaneously. To this purpose, the firmware files have to be stored in the directory that will be used for the firmware update.
