Safety precautions

Equipment handling guidelines

External power equipment, such as an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), is usually very heavy. This equipment requires special handling procedures and additional personnel for unloading and installation. Be aware of weight distribution, and prevent the equipment room floor from being overly stressed.

Procedures involving electrical connections must be performed only by qualified personnel. Ensure that you obey all displayed warning notices on power equipment and connections.

Locating the power supply modules

Introduction

The AC power supply module is shipped installed. The following diagram shows the location of the power supply module in the back panel (E).

Note: Nortel provides only AC power supply. The server works with a DC-to-AC converter, however, you must ensure the converter meets
