Like XON/XOFF protocol, CTS protocol is a mechanism used to con- trol data flow out. The CTS input is used to inform the scanner that the host terminal is ready to accept scanned data. When CTS (+) pro- tocol is selected, the scanner waits for a low level on its CTS input before transmitting data. When CTS
RTS
The RTS output from the scanner may be programmed to operate in one of three different modes. In the default mode RTS signals when the scanner is ready to receive commands or data. In the second mode, RTS is in a fixed state. In the third mode, RTS signals when the scanner has data to transmit. The RTS modes are independent of the CTS protocol. However, you must select the same active state for RTS as for CTS. You may not select CTS

inverted when using an RS232 converter pod.
