Biological fluids - Follow this procedure if the fluid path is in contact with biological fluids such as blood products:
Make a solution of 10% bleach by adding one part of commercial bleach to nine parts of water.
Prime the fluid path using the bleach solution until the entire fluid path has come into contact with bleach.
Pause the priming sequence.
After 30 minutes, resume priming the fluid path using distilled or deionized water to pump the remaining bleach solution from the tubing into a waste container. Prime the fluid path a minimum of 10 cycles with distilled or deionized water.
When you’re satisfied that the entire fluid path has been flushed with water, end the priming sequence.
