1. Getting Started

Control Panel

The illustration shows the control panel when options are installed.

1.Communicating indicator

Lights during transmission or reception.

2.Receive File indicator

Lights to tell you a message has been re- ceived into memory. Blinks when a Memory Lock file has been received. See p.75 “Memory Lock”, Facsimile Reference <Advanced Features> .

3.{On Hook Dial}key

Use to dial a number while hearing tone.

4.{Facsimile}key

Press to switch to Facsimile mode.

5.{Search Destination}key

Press to search for destination from the destination list.

6.{Check Destination}key

Press to check destinations which are currently selected.

7.{Job Information}key

Press to check the status of sending faxes or e-mail.

8.Indicators

Display errors and the machine status. h: Error indicator. See Network Guide and General Settings Guide.

B: Load Paper indicator. See Copy Refer- ence.

D: Add Toner indicator. See Copy Refer- ence.

9.Display

Display the operation status and messag- es.

10.Selection keys

These keys correspond to the items on the display. Press the corresponding key to select the item.

11.Scroll keys

Use to select an item.

{U}key: Press to scroll upward

{T}key: Press to scroll downward

{V}key: Press to scroll right

{W}key: Press to scroll left
