Advanced operations

¶When a SVCD/Video CD disc with PBC is stopped

1 Press 3 or TOP MENU.

A disc menu appears on the TV screen (the PBC function is activated).

Example

[PBC] is indicated in the display window on the front panel.

2 Use the numeric buttons to select the desired item.

•To select a number between 1 and 10:

Press the corresponding button for the number.

•To select a number higher than 10: Use the +10 button.

Examples:		→ 3
To select 13:	+10
To select 34:	+10	→ +10	→	+10 →	4
To select 40:	+10	→ +10	→	+10 →	10

The unit starts playback of the selected item. You can return to the menu by pressing the RETURN button.

When something like [NEXT] or [PREVIOUS] appears on the TV screen, the unit generally works as follows:

•Pressing ¢ advances to the next page.

•Pressing 4 returns to the previous page.

*The method of the operation may be different on different discs.

Hints

•If you want to play a PBC-compatible SVCD/Video CD disc without activating the PBC function, start playback using the numeric buttons instead of 3. (See page 24).

•To activate the PBC function when a PBC-compatible SVCD/ Video CD disc is being played back without the PBC function, do any of the following:

*Press TOP MENU or MENU.

*Press 7 to stop playback, then press 3 .

To specify a desired title/group

Available :

While playing back a DVD AUDIO/DVD VIDEO disc with more than one title or one group, you can specify a desired title to or group be played using the numeric buttons.

1 Press TITLE/GROUP.

[--] is shown in the title display area of the display window.

2 Use the numeric buttons to specify a title or group to be played.

•To select a number between 1 and 10:

Press the corresponding button for the number.

•To select a number higher than 10:

Use the +10 button.

Examples:

To select 40: +10 → +10 → +10 → 10

The unit starts playback from the specified title or group.

NOTE

• This function may not work with some DVD AUDIO/ DVD VIDEO discs.
