Scan mode

>Use the up/down arrow keys to mark the line Scan mode.

>Use the OK key to decide whether you wish to scan only for free-to-air programmes (Free programmes) or whether you wish to include encrypted programmes (All programmes).

>Confirm by pressing the red function key Start scan. The scan will be started. Please note all messages displayed on screen.

>You can terminate the scan by pressing the red func- tion key again.

8.4.4 Manual scan

Should a programme not be found by an automatic scan or a transponder scan, it may be necessary to enter additional, programme-specific PID numbers for this programme. It may be necessary to look up these numbers on the Internet, or to obtain them directly from the appropriate programme provi- der.

The menu (Fig. 8-18) differs from the menu Transponder scan only with regard to the menu items PCR-PID, Audio- PID and Video-PID. There is no need to enter the scan mode.

>Proceed as described for a transponder scan.

>Then, using the up/down arrow keys, mark the lines PCR-PID,Audio-PIDand Video-PID,and use the numeric keys to enter the appropriate numbers.

8.4.5 After the scan

While the scan is in progress, you can follow this on screen as the various transponders are scanned. When the scan has been completed, the number of transponders found, the num- ber of programmes found as well as the number of new pro- grammes found will be shown on screen. In addition, a prompt will appear (Fig. 8-19), asking whether you wish to include the programmes found automatically in the TV or Radio list. If you want to include the programmes automati-
