The data relating to your location must be entered as a decimal figure, correct to one decimal point. As the co-ordin- ates are frequently stated in terms of degrees, minutes and seconds, these must be converted to decimal values as follows:

The full degree figures remain unchanged by the calculation. The minutes are divided by 60, and rounded to one decimal point. The result of this division is added to the degree figure. The seconds are not considered at all, as they do not affect

the first decimal point.

In the menu you will enter the value, rounded to one decimal point, for geographical latitude (50,2).

The decimal value for the longitude will be calculated in the same way.

9.3 Setting a satellite position

For each satellite position to be included, work through the procedures described in Points 9.3.1 to 9.3.3. When pro- gramming satellite positions, it is recommended that you begin with the most easterly satellite location. Then, continue by adding the other satellite positions, working in a westerly direction, until you have reached the most westerly satellite position. Your digital receiver has been pre-programmed at the factory for the most commonly used satellite positions. In addition, you may enter and configure user-defined (User) satellite positions (User 1 to User 14) for any orbital position.
