Channel-Related Information

— Practical Use Of CSPG (Channel-Specific Programming Guide) —

If the host broadcasting station is sending channel- related information, INDEX Plus+ allows you to access that information. Comprehensive program listings for many channels can be displayed on screen. Using this data, you can easily program the HR-IP820U to record shows you select from the displayed listings.

Displaying Channel-Related

Information

Preparation

1.Turn on the power to the TV and the VCR.

2.Set the TV to the channel or mode appropriate for video playback.

Procedure

1Select a channel using the CH +/– button. Then press TITLE. The screen looks like this:

2While the above screen is displayed, press TITLE. The programming guide for the selected channel appears. (Guides may not be available for certain channels.)

Using the DIGIT buttons, input the channel number selected on the cable box and press ENTER.

Select a program by placing the cursor next to it using the CURSOR button (VOL +/–). Then press ENTER, and information pertaining to the selected program (start and end times, etc.) is displayed. To return to the programming guide, press "3".

Using Channel-Related Information For Timer Recording

Preparation

1.Turn on the power to the TV and the VCR.

2.Set the TV to the channel or mode appropriate for video playback.

3.Insert a cassette.

Procedure

**Perform steps 1 and 2 from the preceding procedure.

1Once the programming guide for the selected channel has appeared, place the cursor next to the program you want to record by pressing the CURSOR button (VOL +/–). Then press "9". The recording confirmation screen appears.

2Select the recording speed by pressing the SP/EP button.

3Press MENU. Set the AUTO TIMER function (refer to page 30 of the HR-IP820U instruction manual for details).

4Press MENU again.

5Press TIMER. The VCR enters the TIMER mode, and its power is turned off automatically.
