Parental Lock

This function restricts playback of DVD VIDEO discs which contain violent (and other) scenes according to the level set by the user. For example, if a movie which includes violent scenes supports the parental lock feature, such scenes which you do not want to let children view can be cut or replaced with other scenes.

●Turn on the TV and select the video channel (or AV mode).

●Slide the TV/S-VHS/DVDswitch to the right.

C Access the DVD Set Up menu.

APress SETUP MENU.

BPress w e to select “ OTHERS”.

D Access the “PARENTAL LOCK“ menu.

Press rt repeatedly to
move 0 to “PARENTAL	COUNTRY CODE		US
	PARENTAL LOCK
LOCK“, then press OK.	PASSWORD		_ _ _ _
	SET LEVEL		NONE
● The “PARENTAL LOCK“ sub-	EXIT
menu appears on the TV
screen.	SELECT	USE	TO SELECT. USE OK TO CONFIRM.
	OK	TO EXIT, PRESS [SET UP MENU].

E Access the country code menu.

Press rt repeatedly to
move 0 to “COUNTRY	PARENTAL LOCK
	COUNTRY CODE	US	UG
CODE“, then press OK.	PASSWORD

	SET LEVEL	NONE	UM
	EXIT		UY
			UZ
			VA
			VC

SELECT	USE	TO SELECT. USE OK TO CONFIRM.
OK	TO EXIT, PRESS [SET UP MENU].

F Select the country code.

Press rt repeatedly to move 0 to select the country code, then press OK.

●See “Country/Area Code List for Parental Lock” ( pg. 60).

●The 0 moves to “SET LEVEL”.

G Access the Level menu.

Press OK.

To set Parental Lock for the first time

A Turn on the unit.

Press 1.

B Select the DVD deck.

On the unit

Press S-VHS/DVDrepeatedly so that the DVD indicator lights up.

On the remote control

Press DVD so that the DVD indicator lights up.

H Select the Level.

Press rt repeatedly to move 0 to select the level of restriction, then press OK.

●The 0 moves to “PASSWORD”.

●The smaller the value of level is, the more restrictive the Parental Lock level is.

●Select “NONE” to cancel this function.
