DVD SETUP

Audio Setting

Choose the appropriate Audio settings for your equipment as it only affects playback of DVD discs on the DVD player.

1Press the SETUP button in STOP mode.

2Press the B button to select CUSTOM, and then press the ENTER button.

CUSTOM mode will appear.

Ratings Control

Ratings Control limits playback of discs with unsuitable audience ratings. A four digit code entered by the user will unlock the parental lock.

This feature allows you to prevent discs with objectionable scenes from being played by your children.

Rating Level allows you to set the rating level of your DVD discs. Playback will stop if the disc’s ratings exceed the level you set.

1Press the SETUP button in the STOP mode.

2Press the B button to select CUSTOM, and then press the ENTER button.

3Press the s or B button to select RATING, and then press the ENTER button.

4Enter your four-digit password

Set to ON when the player is con- nected to Dolby Digital Decoder. (ON: Outputs Dolby Digital)

(OFF: Converts Dolby Digital to PCM)

Set to ON when the unit is con- nected to a DTS Decoder.

Set the output for a DVD record- ed in PCM 96 kHz (96 kHz or 48 kHz).

MPEG (Default: OFF)

ON: Output MPEG sound

Set to ON when the unit is con- nected to an MPEG Decoder.

When doing this for the first time, en-

ter any 4 digits (except for 4737). That number will be used as the password from the second time onward.

To change the password, press the K or L button to select CHANGE at step 5 , and then press the ENTER button. Enter the four-digit pass-word, and then press the ENTER button.

With some DVDs, it may be difficult to find if they are com- patible with parental lock. Be sure to check if the parental lock function operates in the way that you have set.

Record the password in case you forget it.

IF YOU FORGET THE PASSWORD

1Press 4, 7, 3, 7 in step 4.

The password will be cleared and the rating level will be set to ALL.

2Repeat steps 5-7 to re-establish the parental lock.

When playing a disc with copyright Protection

If you select OFF, copyright protection will be activated and sound will be down sampled to 48kHz.

5Press the SETUP button to exit.

CONTROL LEVELS

Parental lock is cancelled.

Level 8

DVD software of any grade (adult/general/children) can be played back.

Levels 7 to 2

Only DVD software intended for general use and chil- dren can be played back.

Level 1

Only DVD software intended for children can be played back,

with those intended for adult and general use prohibited.
