13. Sensor Learn / Test Mode

Wireless transmitters are called “sensors” in the PERS vocabulary. In Learn / Test Mode the Console can learn new sensors, test sensors, and erase all sensors.

NOTE: While in Learn /Test Mode, all normal operations of PERS-4200 Console are suspended. No alarms or reports are made in this mode.

To exit this mode, press and release the CANCEL button. The Console will exit Learn / Test Mode automatically after three minutes of no activity (including RF activity from a learned sensor, which will extend Learn / Test Mode for an additional 3 minutes).

13.1 Learning Sensors

The Console can “learn” up to 16 sensors. Use the following steps to locally learn sensors into the Console:

1.Press and release the TEST button (located recessed on the bottom of the Console). The Console will announce:

0“Test Mode, firmware version [number]...

hardware version [number]”.

2.Press and release the TEST button again. The Console will announce:

0“Ready to learn sensor... Zone [number]”.

3.Activate the sensor to learn. The Console will announce:

0“[Fire, Activity, Emergency, or Carbon Monoxide] sensor learned”.

4. The Console will announce the next available zone number:

0 “Ready to learn sensor... Zone [number]”.

To advance to the next available zone without learning a sensor, press the TEST button. Zones already programmed with a sensor are skipped.

5. Repeat Step 3 for each additional sensor (up to 16 total). When all zone locations are full, the Console will announce:

0 “Zones full”

After Zone 16 has been skipped or learned, if there are any available zones remaining, the learn sequence will advance to the fi rst available skipped zone and allow learning another sensor. The learn sequence will cycle through any available/skipped zones until either all zones are programmed, or Learn / Test Mode is exited.

NOTE: To exit Learn /Test Mode at any time, press the CANCEL button.
