Recording a telephone conversation (KX-TCD445 only)
You can record your conversation while on an outside call.
Important:
L All persons using this device for recording telephone conversations shall comply with New Zealand law. This requires that at least one party to the conversation is to be aware that it is being recorded. In addition, the principles enumerated in the Privacy Act 1993 shall be complied with in respect to the nature of the personal information collected, the purpose for its collection, how it is used and what is disclosed to any other party.
1Press {j} during a conversation.
2Press {#}.
L “RECORDING” is displayed and recording starts.
L A beep sounds every 15 seconds and can be heard by the other party, but is not recorded.
3To stop recording, press {j}, then press
{#}.
Note:
L Recorded conversations are treated as new messages.
L To listen to the recorded conversation, see page 26.
L If message memory becomes full, r
flashes rapidly, and recording stops. Erase unnecessary messages (page 26).
Answering calls
1Lift the handset and press {C} or {s} when the unit rings.
L You can also answer a call by pressing any dial key from {0} to {9}, {*}, {#}, or {INT}. (Any key talk feature)
2When finished talking, press {ih} or place the handset on the base unit.
Auto talk feature
You can answer calls simply by lifting the handset off the base unit. You do not need to press {C}. To turn this feature on, see page 21.
To turn the handset ringer off temporarily
When an outside call comes in, press and hold {v} for about 1 second.
Note:
L This feature will not work for intercom calls or when the handset is on the base unit.
Handset locator
Using this feature, you can locate the handset if it has been misplaced.
1Press {x} on the left side of the base unit.
L The base unit will page the handset for about 1 minute.
2To stop paging, press {x} on the base unit or press {C} on the handset.
