Answering System Features (KX-TCD445 only)
Note:
L When the answering system is turned on, ris displayed.
L When the answering system is turned off, rdisappears. The unit will not answer calls.
Greeting message
When the unit answers a call, callers are greeted by a greeting message. You can record your own greeting message or use a prerecorded greeting message.
Press {ih}.

Answering system
The KX-TCD445 base unit contains an answering system which can answer and record calls for you when you are unavailable to answer the phone. You can also record your own voice memos and phone conversations.
For details about memory capacity, see page 27.
Important:
L Only 1 handset can access the answering system (listen to messages, record a greeting message, etc.) at a time.
L When callers leave messages, the unit records the day and time of each message. Make sure the time and date have been set (page 9).
Turning the answering system on/off

Answering System Features (KX-TCD445 only)

Recording a greeting message

You can record your own greeting message (2 minutes and 30 seconds max.).

1 Press {INT}.

L The handset number will be displayed.

2 Press {#}.

3 After the beep, press {7}.

4 Press {6}.

L Hold the handset about 20 cm away and speak clearly into the microphone.

5 Press {9} to stop recording.

L The greeting message is played back.

6 Press {ih}.

Note:

L To erase the greeting message, press {*} during playback, then press {6}.

L “ERROR” is displayed if the greeting message is less than 1 second long.

Using a prerecorded greeting message

If you erase or do not record your own greeting message, the unit can play a prerecorded greeting message for callers and ask them to leave messages. If the message recording time (page 29) is set to “GREET ONLY”, caller messages will not be recorded and the unit will play a different prerecorded greeting message asking callers to call again.
