Useful Information

Problem

The handset does not ring.

The base unit does not ring.

I cannot make a call.

Cause/solution

RThe ringer volume is turned off. Adjust ringer volume (page 17).

RNight mode is turned on. Turn it off (page 30).

RThe ringer volume is turned off. Adjust ringer volume (page 26).

RYou dialled a call restricted number (page 31).

RThe key lock feature is turned on. Turn it off (page 18).

RThe unit is not designed to be used with rotary/pulse dialling services.

Caller ID

Problem

Caller information is not displayed.

Caller information is slow to display.

Time on the unit has shifted.

Cause/solution

RYou must subscribe to a Caller ID service. Contact your service provider/telephone company for details.

RIf your unit is connected to any additional telephone equipment, remove and plug the unit directly into the wall socket.

RIf you use a DSL/ADSL service, we recommend connecting a filter (contact your DSL/ADSL service provider) to the telephone line between the base unit and the telephone line socket. Contact your DSL/ADSL provider for details.

ROther telephone equipment may be interfering with this unit. Disconnect the other equipment and try again.

RDepending on your service provider/telephone company, the unit may display the caller’s information at the 2nd ring or later. Set the first ring to Off(page 26).

RMove closer to the base unit.

RIncorrect time information from incoming Caller ID changes the time. Set the time adjustment to Manual(off) (page 26).

Answering system

Problem

The unit does not record new messages.

Cause/solution

RThe answering system is turned off. Turn it on (page 37).

RThe message memory is full. Erase unwanted messages (page 38).

RThe recording time is set to Greeting Only. Change the setting (page 41).

RIf you subscribe to a voice mail service, messages are recorded by your service provider/telephone company, not your telephone. Change the unit’s number of rings setting or contact your service provider/telephone company (page 41).
