Making/Answering Calls

Adjusting the handset ringer volume

n While the handset is ringing for an incoming call:

Press MDN or MCN repeatedly to select the desired volume.

n Programming the volume beforehand:

2MbN: Select the desired volume.

Temporary handset ringer off

While the handset is ringing for a call, you can turn the ringer off temporarily by pressing MN.

Using the base unit

When a call is being received, the

SP-PHONE indicator flashes rapidly.

1Press MSP-PHONEN when the unit rings.

2Speak into the microphone.

3When you finish talking, press

MSP-PHONEN.

R To turn the ringer off, press and hold MkN until the unit beeps.

Press MDN or MCN repeatedly to select the desired volume.

R To turn the ringer off, press and hold MCN until the unit beeps.

Note:

R Even when the ringer volume is set to off, the base unit still rings for intercom calls (page 47).

Useful features during a call

Hold

This feature allows you to put an outside call on hold.

Handset

1Press MMENUN during an outside call.

2MbN: Holda MSELECTN

3To release hold, press MN.

R Another handset user can take the call by pressing MN.

R The base unit user can take the call by pressing MSP-PHONEN.

Base unit

1Proceed with the operation for your model.

n KX-TG6631 series: page 3 Press MINTERCOMN and then press MSP-PHONEN during an outside call.

n KX-TG6641 series: page 3 Press MHOLDN during an outside call.

2To release hold, press

MSP-PHONEN.

R A handset user can take the call by pressing MN.

Note for handset and base unit:

R If a call is kept on hold for more than 9 minutes, an alarm tone starts to sound and the ringer indicator on the handset flashes rapidly. After 1 additional minute on hold, the call is disconnected.

R If another phone is connected to the same line, you can also take the call by lifting its handset.
