To record a single track while playing an MD or CD

– Single Track Recording

Press START (ENTER) while playing back a track you want to record.

The playback of that track is stopped, and the same track starts playing from the beginning again. This time, the MD deck B starts recording the track onto the currently selected MD in MD deck B.

First Track Recording

First Track Recording allows you to record the first track of each loaded CD. You can, for example, make a directory of all your best CDs.

Before you start recording in the following steps, you can —

cancel the setting, press REC MODE.

go back to the previous steps, press CANCEL.

On the unit ONLY:

1 Load CDs.

Always place a CD on the CD 1 tray. If not, this function does not work.

2 Insert a blank or recordable MD into the MD B loading slot.

3 Press REC MODE.

“MD 3MD REC?” appears in the main display. The MD 3MD lamp also lights.

4 Rotate the left jog dial until “1ST TRACK REC?” appears in the main display.

The 1ST TRACK and CD 3MD lamps light.

6 Rotate the left jog dial to select the recordable MD.

Ex. When you want to record on MD 3

7 Press START (ENTER).

After the first track of the CD on the CD 1 tray is recorded, the first track of the CD on the CD 2 tray will be recorded.

8 Replace the CDs after its first track is recorded.

Recording continues until the first track of each newly loaded CD is recorded.

To stop recording, press 7either for CD player or MD deck B.

To remove the CD, press 0for the corresponding CD number.

• If you eject the CD currently playing, recording stops.

To remove the MD, press 0for MD deck B.

If you press the button while recording, the loading slot cover does not open.

To confirm the recording contents

Press DISPLAY/CHARA while recording.

The following information will appear on the display for a while.
