There are three timers available — Recording Timer, Daily Timer, and Sleep Timer.

Before using these timers, you need to set the clock built in the unit. (See page 11.)

Using Recording Timer

With Recording Timer, you can make an MD of a radio broadcast automatically. You can set three Recording Timer separately.

You can set Recording Timer whether the unit is turned on or off.

To correct a mis-entry any time during the setting process, press CANCEL.

If the CANCEL button does not work, press CLOCK/ TIMER repeatedly and start from step 1 again.

How Recording Timer actually works

The unit automatically turns on, tunes into the specified station, turns off the volume, and starts recording on the MD when the timer-on time comes. Then, when the timer- off time comes, the unit automatically turns off (stands by). Recording Timer works only once, but the timer settings remain stored in memory until you reset them or disconnect the AC power cord.

2 Rotate the right jog dial to set the hour of the timer- on time, then press SET.

3 Rotate the right jog dial to set the minute of the timer-on time, then press SET.

4 Rotate the right jog dial to set the hour of the timer- off time, then press SET.

5 Rotate the right jog dial to set the minute of the timer-off time, then press SET.

6 Rotate the right jog dial to select a preset station channel number, then press SET.

7 Rotate the right jog dial to select a recordable MD in deck B, then press SET.

The corresponding REC (1, 2, 3) indicator stops flashing and remains lit. The settings you have done are shown in the main display in sequence.

You can select “MD1,” “MD2,” “MD3,” and “MD ALL.” When you select “MD ALL,” recording will be done on all loaded MDs continuously.

8 Press POWER to turn off the unit (on standby) if necessary.

1 Press CLOCK/TIMER repeatedly to select Timer Recording 1, 2 or 3 setting mode.

Each time you press the button, the timer mode changes as follows:

To stop recording any time, press 7on MD deck B.

After a timer recording is complete...

Set the volume to an appropriate listening level.

While recording volume is turned off, and will not be restored automatically.

To turn on or off Recording Timer after its setting is done

1Press CLOCK/TIMER repeatedly until “REC1,” “REC2,” or “REC3,” which you want appears in the main display.

2To turn off the Recording Timer, press CANCEL. The corresponding REC (1, 2, 3) indicator goes off from the display.

The Recording Timer is canceled, but the setting for the Recording Timer remains in memory.

To turn on the Recording Timer, press SET.

The corresponding REC (1, 2, 3) indicator lights up on the display. The settings you have done are shown in the main display in sequence for your confirmation.
