To complete a typical operation, the operator does the following:

.Places the workpiece on the conveyor table under or next to the front pressure roller, and adjusts the table height until the top surface of the workpiece just touches the front pres- sure roller.

.Checks the outfeed side of the machine to make sure the workpiece can safely pass all the way through without interference from other objects.

.Wears safety glasses and a respirator.

.Starts the dust collector.

.Turns the sander ON, adjusts conveyor speed, places the workpiece flat on the conveyor, then lets the conveyor feed the workpiece into the sander.

.Slowly raises the conveyor table using the hand crank until the sandpaper begins sand- ing the workpiece.

.Stands at the side of the sander and retrieves the workpiece from the outfeed end.

.Stops the machine.
