Step 4 – Registering For Your BT Home Monitoring Account

Once the Control Panel and sensors are installed at home, you are ready to link the BT Home Monitor VP1000 reporting system.

In order to get your account up and running, you will need to register.

1.Telephone – complete the BT Home Monitor registration form enclosed and telephone your details. The telephone number can be found on the registration form.

2.Fax – Complete the BT Home Monitor registration form enclosed and fax your details. The fax number can be found on the registration form.

3.Internet – If you have access to the Internet and an active e-mail account, go to: www.myhomemonitoring.bt.com

Click on the REGISTER button in the box

 

called ‘I am a new customer’.

(ii.)

You will need to input the following details:

The 16 digit serial number of your BT Home Monitor VP1000. This can be found on your Control Panel. No spaces are necessary.

Where you purchased your BT Home Monitor VP1000.

Title, First Name, Last Name.

A valid and secure email address.

Your temporary password will be sent here.

Home and Mobile telephone numbers.

If you are a BT customer, your BT account number. This can be found on your BT bill.

Address, Town, County, Postcode.

Once this information is submitted you will be asked to verify your email address and your temporary password will be sent to you shortly.

Once you have received a temporary password for your online account, you can return and set up your personal details.

(iii)On the email detailing your temporary password, click the URL link which will take you to: www.myhomemonitoring.bt.com

(iv)Enter your Log In Name which is your 16 digit serial number (this can be found on the back of your Control Panel. No spaces are necessary) and the Temporary Password we emailed you.

(v)When these are verified you will be prompted to change both your Log In Name and Password to something more memorable. If you wish, you may keep your Log In Name as the 16 digit serial number. You must, however, change your password.

(vi)You will then be asked to input a security question and the answer to that question. This is required should you forget your password.

(vii)You will now be logged into your BT Home Monitoring online account.

(viii)The address details and telephone number input at registration will be presented. If these are correct please continue, if not, overwrite. You will be asked to confirm if this is the property to be monitored. This is important information, as the monitored property is always contacted first if an event occurs, using the telephone number provided.

(ix)The details of the sensors related to your BT Home Monitor VP1000 will be presented.
