User Codes

Up to 8 users can be given a unique 4 digit User Code, to turn the system on and off. The Master Code is USER 1 and is the only code which allows access to the System Profile menu. The other 7 users can just access the basic user menu.

To change the user codes, follow these steps:

another PIN is selected.

Switching On and Off

Your BT Home Monitor VP1000 can be switched on and off using the Control Panel, the Keyfob or the optional Keypad.

There are different ON settings, as described below.

Note that your system will not switch ON unless the display reads BT HOME MONITOR. If NOT READY is displayed, then at least one sensor needs to be checked. To do this click SHOW / OK to review the numbers and names of all sensors one by one. For further information refer to the troubleshooting section.

Until display shows CHANGE USER CODE.

Until display shows USER CODE 2.

Display shows USER CODE 2: 1234. Now overwrite this with your new USER CODE. The default user codes from 3 to 8 is: 0000.

This setting is generally used when all occupants are out, as all sensors are fully active.

CLOSED PADLOCK button.

Using your Keypad, press the ON

 

button and input your USER CODE.

Twice to confirm change.

After you have chosen a new code, select either:

To move to USER CODE 2.

 

This allows you to choose

 

separate codes for any

 

addition users of the system.

HOME

Three times, then <OK> to exit to return to READY.
