TRANSPORTING AND STORAGE

DANGER: Rotating tines can cause serious injury. Release bail handle to turn tiller off and remove the safety

key before lifting, transporting or storing the tiller. Never pick up or carry the unit while the motor is running, serious

personal injury could result. Store in a dry place. Do not lift the tiller by the battery handles. Note: The tiller will not be

as heavy to lift if the battery pack is removed first. Do not use the latch as a lift point for the tiller.

OFF-SEASON STORAGE

1. In warmer climates to ensure optimal performance, it is recommended that the battery be maintained on constant

charge.

2. The tiller may be stored with the charger disconnected if all of the following conditions are met.

- the battery is fully charged before storing. (Failure to store fully charged will shorten battery life).

- the average temperatureof the storage location is below 50°F (10°C).

- storage duration is less than 6 months.

BATTERY SERVICE AND INSTALLATION

When service or repair is required, it is recommended that you take your tiller to an authorized Black & Decker

Service Center.

When servicing or replacing batteries, please note:

Use only the same type and size of battery as originally supplied.

Do not dispose of the batteries in a fire. The cell may explode. See Battery Recycling information below.

Do not open or mutilate the batteries. Released electrolyte is corrosive and may cause damage to the eyes or skin. It

may be toxic if swallowed.

Exercise care in handling batteries in order not to short the battery with conducting materials such as rings,

bracelets, and keys. The battery or conductor may overheat and cause burns.

THE RBRC™ SEAL (BATTERY RECYCLING)

The RBRC™ (Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation) Seal on the lead acid battery (or battery pack)

indicates that the costs to recycle the battery (or battery pack) at the end of its useful life have already

been paid by Black & Decker. In some areas, it is illegal to place spent lead acid batteries in the trash or

municipal solid waste stream and the RBRC program provides an environmentally conscious alternative.

Pb

RBRC in cooperation with Black & Decker and other battery users, has established programs in the

United States and Canada to facilitate the collection of spent lead acid batteries. Help protect our envi-

ronment and conserve natural resources by returning the lead acid battery to an authorized Black & Decker service center or to your local retailer for recycling. You may also contact your local recycling center for information on where to drop off the spent battery, or call 1-800-544-6986.

CTL36 specifications

The Black & Decker CTL36 is a versatile and powerful cordless tool designed to enhance efficiency and ease of use for both professional tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts. This tool epitomizes reliability and innovation, catering to a variety of applications from heavy-duty tasks to delicate work.

One of the standout features of the CTL36 is its robust 36V Lithium-Ion battery. This battery technology not only ensures longer run times but also provides fade-free power throughout its use. Unlike traditional battery systems that may lose strength as they drain, the Lithium-Ion technology of the CTL36 maintains consistent performance, allowing users to complete their tasks without interruptions.

The CTL36 is equipped with an efficient brushless motor. Brushless motors are known for their durability and efficiency, offering greater torque and longer motor life compared to brushed counterparts. This means that users can expect higher performance levels and less maintenance over time, increasing productivity on job sites.

Another notable characteristic of the CTL36 is its ergonomic design. It features a lightweight and compact structure that allows for easy handling and maneuverability. The rubber grip on the handle further enhances comfort, reducing fatigue during prolonged use. This is particularly important for professionals who rely on their tools day in and day out.

The tool is also designed with a range of features that enhance its versatility. It includes adjustable speed settings, allowing users to switch between high speed for fast cutting and low speed for more control in intricate tasks. Additionally, the CTL36 comes with an LED work light, providing illumination in darker spaces, thereby ensuring safety and accuracy.

Safety features are also integrated into the design, with an electric brake that halts the tool's operation instantly when the trigger is released, minimizing the risk of accidents. This is a critical feature in busy work environments where safety is paramount.

In conclusion, the Black & Decker CTL36 is a well-rounded cordless tool that combines advanced technologies such as Lithium-Ion battery and brushless motor with user-friendly features like adjustable speed and ergonomic design. Perfect for a wide range of applications, it signifies Black & Decker's commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable products that meet the demands of modern users. Whether you are a seasoned professional or an enthusiastic DIYer, the CTL36 offers the performance and versatility needed to tackle any project with confidence.
