6.4.1 Inserting cartridg es

New cartridges ar e inserted in the AML/J through the I/O unit.
Step 1 Press the button on the I/O unit
The button lights up green. On release by the r obot cont rol the shutt er
is unlocked.
Step 2 O pen the shutter of th e I/O unit
Step 3 Pull out the slide of the I/O unit
Step 4 Remove the magazine
Step 5 Insert the cartridges in the magazine. Pay attention to the cor-
rect position.
• Tape head to the right
• Label to th e front
Step 6 Put the magazine back in the I/O unit
Step 7 Pus h th e slide back in
Step 8 C lose the shutter of th e I/O unit
The AML/J locks the shutter of the I/O unit .
According to configuration the robot checks the magazi ne (barcode or
empty place) on the cartridges.
Step 9 M ove the cartridge with the aid of the host software into the
archive
(exception: foreign mount cartridges)
The cartridges are brought into the archive.
