How to replace the ink cartridge

IMPORTANT Before replacing the cartridge, try printing the test page. (See “Printing the Test Page” in the section “Images Print Poorly” in Chapter 5.)

1Turn on the printer.

2Open the printer’s cover.

Wait while the carrier moves to the center position.

3Raise the bright blue lever on the carrier and remove the cartridge.

Dispose of the cartridge.

IMPORTANT Be careful not to touch the print head, or you may temporarily stain your fingers with ink.

4Remove the cover from the plastic tub that contains the new cartridge.

5Remove the ink cartridge from the plastic tub.

You may safely touch the black plastic, but be careful not to touch any other part.
