Clicking the Start/Stop Recording button in the main menu will activate surveillance according to the configurations in the

Recording Setup page. The center of this button will turn red to indicate surveillance is activated and turns white when deactivated. Click this button again to halt surveillance activity. Note that while the surveillance is active, you cannot concurrently configure any of the cameras. You are, however, permitted to adjust the controls of the PTZ cameras.

You must click the Start/Stop Recording button after you finish configuring the LX5000 system to activate surveillance.
The system is inactive until you click this button.
