AVerMedia LX5000 User’s Manual

Chapter 1 Introduction

1.1 AVerMedia LX5000 Highlights

The AVerMedia LX5000 is the first remote digital surveillance system that operates under the Linux environment. It integrates the latest in image processing, digital management, and communication technology. The AVerMedia LX5000 also employs an auto-integrated interface with remote control software and uses Intelligent Digital Recording to produce ultra-high quality images. Advanced motion detection technology enables the system to use sensing devices to detect motion, which triggers video recording and external alarm devices.

The AVerMedia LX5000 is adaptable and flexible allowing the administrator to customize the system based on various trigger events. These events trigger a variety of action responses necessary to record information and notify the responsible personnel. The AVerMedia LX5000 employs a user-friendly operating interface and requires minimal maintenance. Intelligent programming reduces the need for manual operation and therefore minimizes the human error factor.

The AVerMedia LX5000 system has been especially designed to allow for future enhancements in addition to maintaining interfaces necessary to integrate with legacy surveillance equipment. Taking advantage of today’s sophisticated communication technology, the AVerMedia LX5000 puts you in control of all of your surveillance activities from anywhere in the world.
