We can conclude that the thumbrule for DVD projection is to always leave the projector in 4:3 format except when dealing with

anamorphicsource sw herethe 16:9 setting allows the best reproduction.

TheAuto function calculates an aspect ratio based on the information stored in the image ﬁles.

SelectingAuto in case of a Video source may shrink the image horizontally

How to change the Aspect ratio ?
