Beskrivelse: Under opstart fra standby udfører CAP5 en kontrol af højtalerterminalerne for at se, om der ved en fejl er sket en kortslutning mellem terminalerne. Når CAP5 registrerer amplitudebegrænsning, reduceres lydstyrken langsomt, indtil CAP5 igen registrerer en effekt uden forvrængning.

Det er muligt at deaktivere registrering af amplitudebegrænsning ved at holde knappen Standby/On nede under opstart (mens forstærkeren tilsluttes netstrømmen). Forstærkeren viser dette ved, at lysdioden for beskyttelse blinker i flere sekunder.
