PROCEDURE STEPS:
WARNING: Disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument
panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable. Wait two
minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is
the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to these instructions may result in possible serious or
fatal injury.
NOTE: Using a test light, verify the cigarette lighteroutlet being used is ignition switched. Power must not be
supplied with the ignition in the OFF position.
1. Place the shifter to the mostrearward position and set
the parking brake.
2. Place the passenger seat to the full forward position.
3. Remove the seat belt anchor cover (1).
4. Remove the seat belt anchor bolt.
5. Remove the passenger seat rear floor mounting bolts
(2).
6. Place the passenger seatto the full rearward position.
7. Disconnect and isolate the battery negativecable.
8. Remove the passenger seat front floor mountingbolts
(4).
9. Disconnect the passenger seat electrical connector
(3) and remove the seat from the vehicle.
10. Remove the front passenger door scuff plate (1).
