You can determine the query interval by entering the show ip igmp interface interface-id privileged
EXEC command.
Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to c hange the IG MP qu er y tim eout :
To return to the default timeout value, use the no ip igmp query-timeout interface configuration
command.
Changing the Maximum Query Response Time for IGMPv2
If you are using IGMPv2, you can change the maximu m que ry resp onse ti me ad ve rti sed in IG MP
queries. The maximum query response time allows the multilayer switch to quickly det ect that there are
no more directly connected group members on a LAN. Decreasing the v alue allows the switch to prune
groups faster.
Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to cha nge the ma xim um query r esponse ti me:
To return to the default query-response time, use the no ip igmp query-max-response-time interface
configuration command.
Command Purpose
Step1 configure terminal Enter global configuration mode.
Step2 interface interface-id Enter interface configuration mode, and specify the interface to be
configured.
Step3 ip igmp querier-timeout seconds Specify the IGMP query timeout.
The default is 60 seconds (twice the query interval). The ra nge i s 60
to 300.
Step4 end Return to privileged EXEC mode.
Step5 show ip igmp interface [interface-id] Verify your entries.
Step6 copy running-config startup-config (Optional) Save your entries in the configuration file.

seconds Change the maximum query response time advertised in I GMP que rie s.
The default is 10 seconds. The range is 1 to 25.

Step6 copy running-config startup-config (Optional) Save your entries in the configuration file.
