Verifying the Configuration

Enter the show commands to display the status of the all interfaces.

Using the show Commands to Verify the New Interface Status

In the following procedure, enter the show commands to verify that interfaces are configured and operating correctly.

Step 1 Enter the show interface <back card type> <bay/port> command to specify one of the new interfaces. Verify that the first line of the display shows the correct slot number.

Verify that the interface is up. When the interface and line protocol are up, this indicates that you have a working interface as shown in this example.

Router#show interface fastethernet 1/1
