Appendix Replacing the Chassis Cover

universal gateway, place one of the pow er ra ti n gs l ab el s that came in the pla s ti c b ag w it h th e
documentation direc tl y over th e p ow er r ati ng s i nformation on the re ar p an el. For example, if the
original chas sis c ame with an AC pow er s u pp l y and you repl a ce d it with a DC p ow er supply, place the
DC power ratings la b el over t he ratings stamped o n th e r ea r panel of the cha ss is. Th is w i ll ensure that
the correct power ratings information appears on the rear panel. (See FigureB-15 and Figure B-16.)
Step 6 Reinstall the chassis on a rack, desktop, or table.
Step 7 Reinstall all interf ace ca bles.
Step 8 Reconnect the AC power cord. Or, if you are using a DC-powered unit, refer to Figure B-17 or
Figure B-18 , an d co mp let e t he s te ps ap pr o pria te fo r ea ch power supply.
Warning
The illustration shows the DC power supply terminal block. Wire the DC power supply using the
appropriate wire terminations at the wiring end, as illustrated. The proper wi ring sequence is ground
to ground, return to return, and negative to negative. Note that the ground wire should always be
connected first and disconnected last. To see translations of the warnings that appear in this
