Partitioning a system is done at the QBB level: You can have a maximum of eight partitions. In hard partitioning mode:

•System partitions are independent.

•Each partition requires its own configuration tree.

•Hardware isolation is required.

•Address spaces are disjointed.

•Failures are isolated to a specific partition.
