8.6SRM Environment Variables for COM1

Several SRM environment variables allow you to set up the COM1 port for use with the SCM. Default values are read from shared RAM and set to whatever the SCM values are at console boot time.

com1_baud

Sets the baud rate of the COM1 port and the modem

port. The default is 57600 for the local port and the

modem port. Other allowable baud rates are: 38400,

19200, 9600, 7200, 4800, 3600, and 2400.

com1_flow

Specifies the flow control on the serial port. The

default is software. Other values include hardware,

none, and both.

com1_mode

Specifies the COM1 data flow paths so that data

either flows through the SCM or bypasses it. This

environment variable can be set from either the SRM

or the SCM. The default value is through. Other

values are local, snoop, soft bypass, and firm

bypass.

com1_modem

Specifies to the operating system whether or not a

modem is present.
