Hard partition	A partition whose basic unit is a QBB and which shares
	no resources with any other QBB; defined by using the
	SCM command language. The smallest hard partition
	is one QBB; the maximum number of hard partitions in
	one system is eight.
Hierarchical	See H-switch.

Hose	The connection between a QBB and a PCI box; can be
	logical or physical.
Hot-swap state	One of the power states of the system in which all
	power is present in the system. In this state certain
	components of the system can be replaced. See also
	Cold-swap, Warm-swap, and AC off states.
HPM	H-switch power manager; controls power and monitors
	the temperature inside the H-switch housing. The HPM
	reports status to the system control manager.
H-switch	Hierarchical switch; a high-speed switch connection for
	all QBBs. Each QBB connects to the hierarchical switch
	through its global port.
H-switch power	See HPM.

I/O port	Backplane logic that provides an interface to the I/O
	riser module.
I/O riser module	See Local I/O riser module and Remote I/O riser
	module.
Instance	In a partitioned system, a copy of an operating system.
LFU	Loadable Firmware Update Utility; firmware used to
	update the SRM console firmware and I/O device
	firmware.
Loadable Firmware	See LFU.

	management.
