AC off state

One of the system power states in which all power is

 

removed from the system. See also Hot-swap, Cold-

 

swap, and Warm-swap states.

Clock splitter module

Cold-swap state

Module that provides the system with multiple copies of the global and I/O reference clocks.

One of the system power states in which AC power and Vaux are present in the system, but power is removed from the area being serviced. See also AC off, Hot- swap, and Warm-swap states.

Console serial bus

See CSB.

CSB

Console serial bus; a monitoring and control subsystem,

 

managed by the system control manager (SCM), and

 

which provides a command language used by the

 

operator.

Directory module

Module on the QBB that monitors memory requests

 

and holds the location of the accurate copy of memory

 

data requested. A memory directory module is not

 

needed in a system with only one QBB. In a system

 

with more than one QBB, each QBB needs a directory

 

module.

Distribution board

The interface between the global ports of two QBBs.

Expander cabinet

A cabinet that holds additional storage shelves and PCI

 

boxes.

Global port

Module that plugs into a QBB that provides the

 

interface between the QBB and the hierarchical switch.
