Rotation check:To check the rotation, holdthe front
ofthe arm with one hand and grasp the top of the
column supportwith the other. Press the arm tothe
side. Ifthere is play between thecolumn support
and the column tube, itneeds to be adjusted. See
Figure20B.

Elevation Adjustment: If the elevation check didnot
show any play between the columntube andthe
support, go to the rotationadjustment. Otherwise,
raiseand lower the arm with the elevating hand-
wheel. Tighten the black screws onthe right side of
the column support by 1/16th to 1/8th of a turn.
Tighten the two silver screws on the left side
slightlymore. You will need two 1/2 in. wrenches or
sockets.Turn the elevating handwheel again. Ifthe
columntube binds, loosen the silverand black
screws and turn the handwheel again. See Figure
20C.
When the elevation is smooth, check for looseness
again by pressing upward on thefront of the arm.
Repeat the previousstep untilelevation issmooth
withno playbetween the column tubeand the
column support.

Recheck the rotation by holding the front ofthe
