Playing 2-Channel Sound in ZONE2 (multizone function)

2-channel sound can be played in rooms other than the MAIN ZONE where multichannel sound is played.

There are two methods to do this, as described below. Choose one of the methods.

qZONE2 playback by speaker output

w ZONE2 playback by audio output (PRE OUT) (using an external amplifier))

q ZONE2 playback by speaker output

With the Amp Assign function, Zone 2 audio signals are output from the AVR-1910's SURR BACK/AMP ASSIGN terminals.

Set the AMP ASSIGN mode to “ZONE2”. “AMP Assign” (vpage 25)

Perform the settings at “ZONE2 Setup”. “Making the ZONE2 settings” (vpage 30)

w ZONE2 playback by audio output

The audio signals connected to the AVR-1910’s ZONE2 output terminals (ZONE2 OUT) are output to the ZONE2’s amplifier and played with that amplifier.

Adjust the volume on the connected amplifier.

Also be sure to read the operating instructions of the connected devices.

NOTE

We recommend using high quality pin-plug cables for audio connections in order to prevent noise.

It is not possible to play the digital audio signals input from the HDMI, COAXIAL or OPTICAL terminals in ZONE2. Play using analog connections (in stereo).

Playback

The operation is the same for “q ZONE2 playback by speaker output” and “w ZONE2 playback by audio output”.

The selected input source is shown on the display.

NOTE

When “SOURCE” is selected for the input source, the sound being played in the MAIN ZONE is played. No sound is output if a digital audio input source is being played in the MAIN ZONE.

Adjusting the volume (for “q ZONE2 playback by speaker output”)
