Multi-zone Operations

Turning the Power On and Off

GOperation on the main unitHPress <ZONE2 ON/OFF>.

When the power turns on, the multi-zone indicator () lights on the display.

GOperation on the remote control unitH

In the zone mode you want to operate, press [ZONE2 ON] or [ZONE2 OFF].

•Also press [SOURCE SELECT] when in standby mode, the power turns on.

•When using ZONE2, it is possible to turn the power for the MAIN ZONE only on or off by pressing [MAIN ON] or [MAIN OFF].

Adjusting the Volume

GOperation on the main unitH

qPress <ZONE2 / REC SELECT> and select the zone to be adjusted. w Turn <VOLUME> to adjust.

GOperation on the remote control unitH

qSet [SOURCE CONTROL 1] to “AUDIO” and [SOURCE CONTROL 2] to “ZONE2”.wPress [VOLUME].[Variable range] – – – –70dB ~ –40dB ~ +18dB

•The volume can be increased up to the value set at menu “Manual Setup” – “ZONE2 Setup” – “Volume Limit” (vpage 32).

•The ZONE2 volume can be adjusted only when “ZONE2” is selected at menu “Manual Setup” – “Option Setup” – “Amp Assign” (vpage 32).

Selecting the Input Source

GOperation on the main unitH

qPress <ZONE2 / REC SELECT> and select the zone to be adjusted. w Turn <SOURCE SELECT>.

GOperation on the remote control unitH

qSet [SOURCE CONTROL 1] to “AUDIO” and [SOURCE CONTROL 2] to “ZONE2”.

wPress [SOURCE SELECT].

Turning off the Sound Temporarily

qSet [SOURCE CONTROL 1] to “AUDIO” and [SOURCE CONTROL 2] to “ZONE2”.

wPress [MUTING].

The sound is reduced to the level set at menu “Manual Setup”

– “ZONE2 Setup” – “Mute Level” (vpage 32).

To cancel, either adjust the volume or press [MUTING] again. The setting is canceled when the zone’s power is turned off.

•The source selected for ZONE2 is also output from the recording output connectors.

•When the input source to which the digital input connectors (OPTICAL/COAXIAL) are assigned is selected in ZONE2, playback is only possible if the digital signal being input is in PCM (2-channel) format.

NOTE

•Digital audio signals input from the HDMI connectors cannot be played in multi-zone.

•When certain digital signals are being input, noise may be output from the ZONE2 audio output connectors.
